How does this headline read to you?

This was in the SMH today:

Homeless: 'one in four military vets'

The way I first read that, I thought it meant that one in four veterans was homeless. What they actually meant that out of the homeless, one in four is a vet.

Just goes to show how misleading a badly written can be.
