Yulla yulla

This is a tub of Yulla chocolate mousse with berries. It's not very big - only 120ml - but it packs a punch. It's not cheap either, but this small tub is more than enough for one person. It's so rich, you really wouldn't want to eat more than one a week.

I read the ingredients, and it is mercifully free of all the usual crap that appears in "manufactured" foods these days. It's just good old fashioned eggs and cream and chocolate etc etc. I think one of the best things Jamie Oliver ever did was demonstrate how a chicken nugget is manufactured. This is at the other end of the spectrum.

There is a pizza place called L'angelo not far from us, and they also sell a "home made" style chocolate mousse, but in much larger containers. I used to baulk at having to pay $7 for one of their tubs, but when I discovered that it takes about 4 days to eat one (because of the richness), I gave up complaining about the price.

This Yulla stuff is as good - if not better. The berries in the bottom help to cut through the richness of the chocolate, although every time I stick my spoon down the bottom to scoop some out, I manage to spurt berry juice all over the table or myself. They ought to put the berries on the top rather than the bottom.

Apart from that, they are quite magnificent. After eating one, I feel the need to go for a 100km bike ride. You have to love that.
