A lot of work is being done on a nasty single lane stretch of the Hume somewhere south of Yass. A new section of road has been carved out of the hills and graded and I presume it is approaching the time of the holy laying of the asphalt.
As I drove past miles of wide, pristine gravel roads, I wondered whether the odd ute driver feels the need to put left hand down from time to time, cross the verge and pull a few donuts on the gravel. If the Disco were capable of doing handbrake turns without flipping over, I'd probably give it a go myself.
How often to grader drivers get to work and find that they have to re-grade yesterdays work after the local bogans have had a night going sideways?
