What lurks over yonder ridge?

I blogged yesterday about my ride out towards Prospect Reservoir, which is where I intend to get to one day. In the photo below, it's the patch of water on the left. Where I got to is the housing development over towards the right - the area of streets that looks a bit like a pair of lungs. The ridge that I rode most of the way to the top of is the green vertical stripe to the left of the "lungs". After getting home and viewing this photo, I now know why the developers have done their best to stop people from actually getting to the top of the ridge to see what is on the other side.


Behold, the dark satanic mills of Mordor.


Wouldn't you just love to buy a property, and then find out this is just over the hillside?
