Indicator of economic inactivity?

These photos show the back of the Caterpillar company site out at Parramatta. It appears to be a typical dealers yard, with a mix of old and new equipment, and big workshops for maintaining or refurbishing equipment. I've been past it a few times, and I have never seen so many big yellow machines in the yard. See that big flag in the distance? They start just beyond that flag and are lined up all the way to the right of the photo (and beyond), and they are stacked 4 or 5 deep in places.




I guess demand for construction and mining equipment just ain't what it used to be.
