I did a bit of shopping this week to expand the pile of unread books. If Woin is going to make us all unemployed, I might as well have something handy to pass the time. Or, I can burn the library a book at a time to keep warm over winter.
First up, Heaven and Earth by Ian Plimer. A steal at $39.95, including postage, direct from the publisher.

Liberty and Tyranny: A Conservative Manifesto
I heard today (on a week old podcast) that they have now printed a million copies of Liberty and Tyranny, and it has been number 1 on the New York Times for 4 weeks. Someone apart from me must be buying it. Flipping hell - there are over 1,000 reader reviews of it on Amazon, most of them giving it 5 stars.
Then we have Mark Steyn:
America Alone: The End of the World as We Know It
I also slipped a novel into the order, just for kicks. It's by an author I have never heard of, but it looked interesting.

Except America Alone, a good friend bought it for me for Christmas.
I've got - and have reviewed - America Alone. A great book and written in that typically wonderful Steyn style.
Just thought I'd mention that while I use the local Amazon (France) for my books if you are in Oz you can get books delivered free from 'The Book Depository' in the UK. See here: http://www.bookdepository.co.uk/
The prices are usually similar to Amazon.com and the free postage to Oz is pretty qucik, from what family report. The only drawback is you'll be paying in Euros or Pounds.
Free postage - that's good to know. The postage from the US was so murderous, I had to drop 5 books from the order.
Heaven and Earth from Boffins in Perth -$49.95 hardback. Exe but the last copy in the shop. Noticed one of the other big chain bookshops was out of stock online. Maybe the book is being taken notice of! Probably did not do a huge print run to start with.
