Approaching the protest

This is what it was like near David Jones. All the streets around the Pitt St mall area where blocked off by one or two buses parked across the road. I wrote yesterday about the lack of mesh screens to cover the front windows of these buses - well, I was too hasty. Some of the buses had detachable screens fitted to not only all the windows but the wheel wells as well. They looked pretty rock-proof to me.



If you click on this photo and view it full sized, you can see another row of buses right down the end of this street in the distance, as well as a couple of lines of police along the street.

The photo below shows a pair of buses blocking the approaches to Parliament House. These ones have the mesh screens fitted to the wheel wells and windscreens.



Lots of people were taking photos of the police buses, so I took a photo of them taking photos.



People photographing each other seemed to be the most popular activity of the day.
