The pain of trying to be good

Went out for dinner last night (review to follow shortly) and had a wonderful night with some old and new friends. The restaurant was pretty ordinary, but we had a good laugh and I had plenty to drink and it turned out to be a hoot.

One of the guys was not drinking as he had to be up early this morning to do some things. He never elaborated on those things, but we discovered what they were around 10am.

He had collected a ladder and a saw and was in the school nearby trimming some tree branches, which is the kind of thing he does on a regular basis. He's that kind of guy. Trouble is, instead of banging on my door and kicking me out of bed to hold his ladder, he did it on his own and ended up falling off the ladder.

The first we knew of it was when his wife and kids turned up to collect his car. He was in hospital with a broken arm and was in no fit state to drive.

So there's a lesson here kiddies. If you want to save the planet, don't be afraid to get some help. Even if it is an ungodly hour on Sunday morning.
