Has anyone else noticed that Craig Thompson was on a pretty good wicket when he was running the Health Services Union, existing frugally on a meagre salary of $154,000 a year - which was presumably topped up with other entitlements like a car, laptop, mobile phone, ADSL connection at home and so on. His payout on leaving was calculated at $190,000.
That's not a bad salary for a union that didn't "have a lot of money sitting around".
At what point does an executive become a "fat cat", regardless of the type of enterprise they are running? In the NSW state sector, a manager on that sort of money would definitely be regarded as an oversized puss.
Am I the only one to think that it stinks to see those that are supposedly protecting the workers engineering enormous pay packets for themselves, which all have to be paid for by the membership.

That's why I resigned from my union 18 years ago and still kept working.
