Racism - shoe on other foot

From the Telegraph.

The background:

THE family of a boy struck and killed by a drunken hoon have slammed the length of his jail sentence outside court today.

Gary Ryan was sentenced to eight years with a non-parole period of six years at the County Court today, after mowing down six-year-old Bangoang Tut in the boy's own front yard after a pre-Christmas drinking binge late last year.

The clanger:

At school, he was not accepted by the indigenous community for being too white, and became a loner.
So who is it that judges people by the colour of their skin?

At school, he was not accepted by the indigenous community for being too white, and became a loner.

He left home at 16 after enduring a problematic relationship with his alcoholic father, and had displayed suicidal tendencies.

Despite a history of offending he had never been imprisoned.

On the day of the crash, Ryan had not wanted to go to the party but was persuaded to by friends. When he arrived, he decided to drink alcohol despite previously stating he was trying to give up.

Well, BOAB, it seems that none of it was Ryan's fault.
