My friend BSOD

Posting has been a bit quiet of late due to our old Microsoft favourite - the Blue Screen of Death. I finally got enough time this morning to pull the computer to bits and put it back together. What fixed it was moving the cable for my primary disk from one SATA port on the motherboard to another - followed by a bit of fiddling with the BIOS. The PC is getting a bit long in the tooth, and the insides are getting a bit dusty, so it's no wonder it's getting dodgy in its old age.

There is some fusty old rule for 'IBM-compatables' which designates drives as master or slave. Are you bumping into that?

Cheers

I'm getting long in the tooth. My insides are getting a bit dusty. STARTING to get dogdy, but haven't quite reached 'old age' just yet. Glad you're back.
