Mystery solved

The Big T was right - this is a 3 Litre Rover, not a Rover 95 as I originally thought. I saw it going past, and paid close attention to the nomenclature on the back. Damn.

Hey fat head, get your stupid, slow moving, useless scooter out of my lane. This twonk was busting along flat out, at an almighty 12km/h or so. Utter waste of space.

Cool Hand Luke, waiting at the lights. Try as I might, I couldn't catch this cat. Some people are just much too zoomy for my liking.

I have to ask. Do you ride and take pictures at the same time or do you safely park before doing so? Is your camera mounted in a 'commercially available holder designed for that purpose'? Just asking. :)

Being asked by the person most likely to ride with one hand while balancing a DSLR in the other, hoping that her mobile phone doesn't fall out of her poorly balanced backpack...

95% of the time, I take the photos on the "run". Then again, I specifically bought a Canon Ixus because it is flat and easy to extract, turn on, point and use with one hand. I previously had a Fuji SLR type camera, and I had to stop every time I wanted to take a photo.

So your ability to take photos on the run will largely be driven by the camera you use.

I have ordered a video camera that can be mounted on my helmet, so once that arrives (this week hopefully), we will have video on the run as well.

Thanks for the picture of the Rover. My dad had one when I was about 21, and it was an awesome drive, if a little stately.

Dad had the next model - the 3500 P6B. I inherited it in the mid 1990's when they moved onto a Subaru. Great car, until a garbage truck destroyed it.

Hi Boy
My Ixus takes great pix - thanks for the advice! I love it. It's fast and easy to use and, with its own spesh battery, very light and small.

When I was seventeen my boyfriend had a Rover 90. After a few years he sold it to some suc, er, someone who loved the cars and began to hot up and drive his mother's Ford Anglia (Anglebox). He hotted it up a bit and his mother was too scared to drive it for fear she'd put it through the garage!

Oh, the Rover had two cracks in the head, he got rid of it in the nick of time!
