How to cut short a car chase

Although our local coppers have a secure parking area out the back of their cop shop, they always have a few cars out the front. I think it is partly political – it makes the station look occupied, rather than empty (which is what it is most of the time).

One of the patrol cars wasn’t going anywhere the other morning – out the front was an NRMA van and the cop car had the lid up. Don’t see that too often. There was a cop standing out there talking to the NRMA bloke - you see that even less (a cop, in the flesh, outside the station).
